DiNapoli Applauds New Laws For Superstorm Sandy Recovery

New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli released the following statement on the new laws to aid in the Superstorm Sandy Recovery:

“A year after this devastating storm, many of our communities are still rebuilding and struggling with real fiscal and economic consequences. I applaud Governor Cuomo for acting today on legislation put forth by my office to give affected communities time to pay back municipal fund advances (A.5549/S.4725) and enable local governments and school districts to use reserve funds for Sandy recovery expenses (A.5550/S.4726). These new laws will give localities the flexibility they need to pay for Sandy-related expenses and rebuild their communities.”
