Purpose of Audit

The purpose of our audit was to determine whether District officials ensured the accuracy of compensation paid and benefits provided to employees for the period July 1, 2015 through May 23, 2017.


The Oneonta City School District is located in the City of Oneonta, Town of Oneonta and portions of the Towns of Laurens, Milford, Maryland and Davenport in Otsego and Delaware Counties. The District, which has approximately 1,700 students, is governed by a Board of Education. Budgeted appropriations for the 2017-18 fiscal year total $38.6 million.

Noteworthy Achievement

  • District officials accurately paid and provided benefits to employees in accordance with Board-approved contracts.
