Purpose of Audit

The purpose of our audit was to examine internal controls over the District’s purchasing practices for the period July 1, 2014 through December 31, 2015.

Background

The Blind Brook-Rye Union Free School District is located in the Village of Rye Brook and the Town of Rye in Westchester County. The District, which operates three schools with approximately 1,500 students, is governed by an elected five-member Board of Education. The District’s operating budget for the 2015-16 fiscal year totaled approximately $42.6 million.
