Purpose of Audit

The purpose of our audit was to review the District’s controls over the computer inventory it rents through a cooperative services agreement for the period July 1, 2014 through July 21, 2015.

Background

The Arlington Central School District is located in the Towns of LaGrange, Pleasant Valley, Beekman and Union Vale and portions of the Towns of Hyde Park, Wappinger and Pawling, Dutchess County. The District, which operates 11 schools with approximately 9,000 students, is governed by an elected nine-member Board of Education. Budgeted appropriations for the 2014-15 fiscal year totaled approximately $194 million.

Key Finding

  • District officials have established adequate controls over the computer inventory that allow computer equipment to be tracked efficiently.
