Purpose of Audit

The purpose of our audit was to assess the District’s financial condition for the period July 1, 2012 through January 8, 2014.


The Gananda Central School District is located in Wayne County and is governed by the Board of Education, which comprises seven elected members. The District’s budgeted expenditures for the 2013-14 fiscal year totaled $19,966,154.

  • District officials have struggled with fiscal challenges and deteriorating financial condition.

Key Recommendation

  • Establish and maintain the District’s financial stability by significantly decreasing expenditures or increasing real property taxes.
