Division of the Lottery
Y2K Compliance: Auditing and Prize Payment Systems The Division of the Lottery uses four automated systems to pay out prizes and to audit the transactions processed by the contractors administering the games of chance promoted by the Division. We conducted a review to assess whether the Division appears to be taking the necessary steps to address year 2000 problems for these four automated systems. The results of our review show that the Division is taking many of the steps necessary to address these problems. However, the remediation of the systems has fallen behind schedule, and according to Division officials, any changes in existing games or introduction of new games could result in further delays.
