Y2K Compliance: Capital Planning System and Facility Inventory System

The State University Construction Fund maintains the Capital Planning System, which is used to project capital needs, and the Facility Inventory System, which contains an inventory of all State- owned or operated college buildings. We conducted a review to assess whether the Fund appears to be taking the necessary steps to address year 2000 problems for these two automated systems. The results of our review show that the Fund is taking many of the steps necessary to address these problems. However, the Fund's contingency plans need to be formalized to provide better assurance that services will not be disrupted if data processing difficulties are encountered in relation to the year 2000.
