Y2K Compliance: Civilian Personnel/Payroll Management System

The Division of Military and Naval Affairs uses the Civilian Personnel/Payroll Management System to maintain personnel information. We reviewed the actions taken by the Division in attempting to ensure that activities dependent on this automated system are not significantly disrupted because of data processing difficulties related to the year 2000. We found the Division is taking many of the actions needed to prevent such difficulties. However, system testing is not scheduled to be completed until October 1999, which may not allow the Division enough time to resolve any unforeseen difficulties.
