Office of General Services
Y2K Compliance: Data Center and Human Resources System The Office of General Services (OGS) maintains a data center that supports the data processing needs of various other State agencies. In addition, OGS, along with the Department of Civil Service, is responsible for developing a new centralized human resource management system for State agencies to replace the antiquated system maintained by OGS. We conducted a review to assess whether OGS appears to be taking the necessary steps to address year 2000 problems for these automated systems. The results of our review show that OGS is taking many of the steps necessary to address these problems. However, the implementation of the human resources system may be delayed beyond its scheduled date of November 1999, because testing of the system is not scheduled to begin until October 1999 and testing of this kind usually demands considerable resources.
