Higher Education Services Corporation - Tuition Assistance Program
City College of New York During the 1994-95 through 1996-97 academic years, the City College of New York certified $15.6 million in TAP and STAP (Supplemental Tuition Assistance Program) awards. We disallowed $50,459 of these awards as well as $11,444 in awards that related to other academic years. The total $61,903 was disallowed because students were incorrectly certified as eligible for the awards. For example, some students received awards even though they did not maintain good academic standing or did not meet certain STAP eligibility requirements.
