Wadsworth Center for Laboratories and Research: Laboratory Equipment Controls
The Wadsworth Center for Laboratories and Research is one of the nation's largest public laboratories. In our prior audit report 93-S-87, we found that annual physical inventories were not conducted by the Center, equipment was not always adequately described by inventory records, and equipment costing $3.3 million could not be accounted for. We made several recommendations aimed at strengthening controls over Center equipment. Our follow-up review found that these recommendations were fully implemented.
