Pipeline Safety Program (Follow-Up Review)
In our prior audit report 92-S- 37, we identified weaknesses in Commission procedures for administering regulations designed to ensure the safety of natural gas pipelines. For example, pipeline inspections were not adequately documented, inspectors were not adequately supervised, and the guidelines governing inspections were not uniform at different regional offices. In our follow-up review, we found that good progress had been made by the Commission in implementing our prior audit recommendations.
