Quality of Internal Control Certification

The Division of Veterans' Affairs was created to coordinate programs and activities that aid members of the armed forces, veterans, and their families. State agencies and public authorities must annually certify their compliance with important provisions of internal control. We examined the adequacy of the Division's certification of compliance for the year ended March 31, 2008 and found that certain improvements were needed in the Divisionís certification process. For example, the Division was more than three months late in completing its certification for that year.
