New York City Department of Parks and Recreation
Oversight of Public-Private Partnerships (Follow-Up Review) A number of not-for-profit organizations assist the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation in its maintenance of City parks. In our initial audit report 2000-N-16, we examined the Departmentís agreements with these organizations and found that some of the agreements had not been formalized. We also found that the activities of the organizations were not monitored by the Department. We recommended that the Department formalize all the agreements and monitor the activities of the organizations. In our follow-up review, we found that progress had been made by Department officials in implementing the recommendations contained in our prior report.
