State Education Department
Student Enrollment Data Reported by School Districts (Follow-Up Review) School districts are required to report student enrollment data to the State Education Department, which uses the data to monitor and report on district performance and to help calculate the amount of State aid paid to each district. In our prior audit report 98-S-83, we examined district reporting practices and Department practices for verifying and categorizing the data. We found that the reporting process would be more efficient and better protected against errors if it were fully automated, and certain improvements could be made in Department practices for verifying and categorizing the data. In our follow-up review, we found that progress had been made in implementing the recommendations contained in our prior report.
