2003 Shift Lump Sum Adjustment ($75.00) and the 2004 Shift Lump Sum Payment ($375.00) for the Winter Maintenance Season

Purpose

To provide agency procedures for processing payments and introduce the new Earn Code to process the 2003 adjustment.

Eligible Employees

Employees in the CSEA Operational Services Unit (Bargaining Unit 03) in the Department of Transportation.

Effective Date(s)

Payments may be submitted in Pay Period 17L, checks dated December 1, 2004.

Background and New Earn Code

Pursuant to Article 51 of the CSEA Operational Services Unit Agreement, employees assigned to winter maintenance shifts which require them to change their normal working hours to a shift, any part of which falls between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on a regularly scheduled basis, shall receive a lump sum payment of $375.00 retroactive to the 2003 payment.

The 2003 Shift Lump Sum Payment of $300.00 was paid Pay Period 17L, checks dated December 3, 2003. OSC has created a new Earn Code ASH (Adjust Shift LSP 2003) that must be used to pay the additional $75.00.

Employees eligible for the 2004 Shift Lump Sum Payment of $375.00 shall not receive Inconvenience Pay for the same period of their winter maintenance shift.

Agency Actions

The agency must enter the 2003 Shift Lump Sum Payment adjustment of $75.00 for eligible employees through the Time Entry page as follows:

The agency must enter the 2004 Shift Lump Sum Payment of $375.00 for eligible employees through the Time Entry page as follows:

Unit: 1

Payroll Register and Employee Paycheck/Advice

The Earn Codes ASH and SHL and the amounts will be displayed on the payroll register.  The earnings descriptions “Adjust Shift LSP 2003" and “Shift LSP" and the amounts will be displayed on the employee’s paycheck or advice.
