Subject/Purpose

Correction of Bulletin No. SU-60 relating to dues structure changes for employees represented by United University Professions (UUP). There is no dues rate increase. However, the salary threshold (minimum salary) has changed as a result of the recent 3.5% salary increase.

To explain changes in the narratives for dues and agency shop fee codes.

Affected Employees

Employees in Bargaining Unit 08 with one of the following deduction code of 215, 222, 260 and 262

OSC Actions

OSC will automatically change the narratives for dues codes 222 and 260, along with the agency shop codes 222 and 262. The changes are as follows:

  • Dues Code 222, UUP Dues will be UUP Member 26P
  • Agency Shop Code 215, UUP Agency Shop will be UUP Fee Payer 26P
  • Dues Code 260, UUP21P/CYF Dues will be UUP Member 21P
  • Agency Shop code 262, UUP 21P/CYF Agency Shop will be UUP Fee Payer 21P

OSC will also increase the dues and agency shop fee rates for UUP Member 26P (code 215), UUP Fee Payer 26P (code 222), UUP Member 21P (code 260) and UUP Fee Payer 21P (code 262).

OSC will update the salary schedule to calculate the dues (code 222 and 260) and agency shop fee (215 and 262) as follows:

  • For employees with a base annual salary of $20,986 or less, the deduction is .9% of the adjusted biweekly gross.
  • For employees with a base salary of $20,986.01 or more, the deduction is 1% of the adjusted biweekly gross.

There is no annual maximum for dues or agency fees.

The adjusted biweekly gross is calculated by subtracting overtime, overtime meals, holiday pay, standby, extra service, summer session, location stipend, bonus, lump sum payment, and longevity lump sum payment from gross pay.
