Purpose

To explain OSC's automatic processing and agency Time Entry panel procedures

Affected Employees

SUNY Professional Services employees in Bargaining Unit 08 who meet the eligibility criteria

Effective Date

Payment will be included in the employee's regular paycheck or advice dated January 17, 2001

Eligibility Criteria

Full-time employees in Bargaining Unit 08 who were active on the payroll December 31, 2000 and whose actual work station was located in New York City or the counties of Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland or Westchester are entitled to $600.

Employees on a leave with pay in Bargaining Unit 08 who were active on the payroll December 31, 2000 and whose actual work station was located in New York City or the counties of Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland or Westchester are entitled to a prorated amount.

Full time employees on a leave without pay on December 31, 2000 are not eligible for the Location Stipend.

OSC Automatic Processing

In the Time Entry panel, OSC will automatically apply the $600 Location Stipend to full time employees who were active in bargaining unit 08 on December 31, 2000 for the following campuses:

28050 Stony Brook 28390 Farmingdale
28100 HSC-Brooklyn 28570 Maritime
28200 Old Westbury 28580 Optometry
28260 Purchase  

OSC's automatic processing will be completed on January 5, 2001.

Listings

Employees who will receive the $600 Location Stipend automatically will be identified on a listing. Listings will be faxed to the campuses on January 5, 2001.

Agency Payment Processing Instructions

If an employee is ineligible for the automatic payment:

  • Agency staff at Stony Brook and HSC-Brooklyn should delete the Location Stipend row on the employee's Time Entry panel.
  • Agency staff in agency codes 28200, 28260, 28390, 28570 and 28580 should send a list of the ineligible employees to the SUNY System Administration to delete the Location Stipend row. The fax number for SUNY is (518) 443-5785.
  • Deletions must be completed by January 8, 2001.
  • Agencies must process the $600 LOS payment for employees in GFT (geographic full-time) positions.
  • Agencies must process eligible employees who are on a paid leave at the prorated amount.

To pay employees who did not receive the automatic payment, use the earnings code LOS and enter the following information through the Time Entry panel:

Earnings Begin Date: 12/31/2000
Earnings End Date: 12/31/2000
Earnings Code: LOS
Amount: $600.00

Payroll Register and Employee's Paycheck/Advice

The earn code LOS and the amount paid will be displayed on the payroll register. The earnings description "Location Stipend" and the amount will appear on the employee's paycheck or advice.
