Purpose

To explain eligibility criteria and provide agencies with instructions for processing the payment.

Employees in Bargaining Units S8, F8, S9, SG, G9

Eligibility

Effective 3/31/03, employees in all bargaining units stated above who were not promoted, and did not receive a longevity bonus (JLO) and did not receive a full increment but did receive a partial increment on April 1, 1999 which was less than $850, and had a performance rating of other than unsatisfactory, shall receive a Lump Sum Bonus (JLS) which represents the difference between the partial increment and $850. This criteria covers the length of the contract that is in effect from 4/1/99 - 3/31/2003.

Employees who first become eligible for longevity bonus (JLO) on April 2003, if otherwise meet the above criteria, are eligible to be paid JLS effective 3/31/03.

Employees in bargaining unit F8 who meet the following additional criteria are eligible for the Bonus Payment.

  • Employees whose salary is at or above the second long step and previously received a JLO pursuant to Section 7.8(d) of the 1995-1999 contract and did not receive a promotion during the term of the 1999-2003 contract, receive the full amount.

Employees in bargaining unit S9 who meet the following additional criteria are eligible for the Bonus Payment.

  • Employee's whose salary exceeds the second long step and previously received a JLO pursuant to Section 7.8(d) of the 1995-1999 contract but did not receive a promotion during the term of the 1999-2003 contract, receive the full amount.

Agency Procedures

The agency must submit the JLS in the Additional Pay Panel. The required data is as follows:

Miiscellaneous Information

This payment is pensionable.

The earnings code JLS will appear on the Payroll Register and the earnings description Judicial Lump Sum Bonus will appear on the employee's paycheck or advice.
