Purpose

To explain OSC’s automatic processing of the reduction to the 2008 Blind Veterans Annuity payment.

Background

Pursuant to Chapter Law 496 of the Laws of 2008 the remainder of the allocated funds for the Blind Veterans 2008 annuity payments must be reduced by 6% effective 9/1/08.

Effective 9/1/08 - Paychecks dated 9/29/08

OSC Actions

On September 16, 2008, OSC will reduce all pensioner and beneficiary annual annuities to $1,061.04 on the Job Data page effective 9/1/08.

The Action/Reason codes of Pay Rate Chg/SDC (Salary Decrease) will be used for all rows.

OSC will also update any subsequent rows as necessary using the Action/Reason codes of Pay Rate Chg/CSL (Correct Salary).

NHRP704 Mass Salary Payment Report

This report identifies all recipients who received the Annuity Decrease and identifies all of the recipient’s annuities that were automatically decreased.  Other fields on the report include the EmplID, Employee Record Number, Employee Name, Eff Date Grade, Bargaining Unit, Pay Basis Code, Part-time Percentage, Action Reason, Old Comp Rate, New Comp Rate and Increment Code.
