  • Villages: 15 of 535 units with fiscal years ending on or before March 31, 2013
  • School Districts: 87 of 700 units with fiscal years ending June 30, 2013
  • Local Governments: 40 of over 1,000 units with fiscal years ending December 31, 2012

New York's communities are facing a new fiscal reality. State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli's office has developed a public fiscal stress monitoring system that provides feedback to counties, cities, towns, villages, school districts and citizens regarding the level of fiscal stress in which these entities are currently operating.
