Financial Data: Data for Local Governments

In an effort to present local government data in the most useful and meaningful way, we have revised classifications of data into new formats for counties, cities, towns, villages, school districts, fire districts and joint activities. We are also introducing a new "Level 2" presentation to provide more detail of the various revenue and expenditure categories. Rather that just having high-level (Level 1) summary data, you can now "get behind" the numbers for even greater detail. Through this new format, you can easily find information on how local governments generate their revenues and what activities and services those revenues support. You can select data for fiscal years ended 1996-2009. In addition to the Level 1 and Level 2 formats, a third option showing expenditures grouped by object is also available. The data will be updated on a quarterly basis. Please note that information for Special Purpose Units, including Industrial Development Agencies, has not yet been converted to this new format.
