Y2K Compliance: Financial Management System and Revenue Attendance Accounting System

The Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation maintains the Financial Management System, which supports the Office's financial activities, and the Revenue Attendance Accounting System, which tracks revenue and attendance at State parks and historical sites. We reviewed the actions taken by the Office in attempting to ensure that activities dependent on these two automated systems are not significantly disrupted because of data processing difficulties related to the year 2000. We found the Office is taking many of the actions needed to prevent such difficulties. However, a plan for testing the systems has not been developed and the systems are not scheduled to be tested until September 1999. As a result, the Office may not be left with enough time to resolve any unforeseen difficulties that are encountered during the testing.
