Year 2000 Preparedness

We examined the efforts of the State Emergency Management Office (SEMO) in helping State agencies and local governments prepare for potential emergencies that could arise from the inability of computerized information systems and automated equipment to correctly process dates beyond December 31, 1999. We found that the actions undertaken and planned by SEMO appear to be reasonable and consistent with the actions being taken by emergency management offices in the federal government and in other comparable states.
