Controls Over Public Safety Staffing at Selected Campuses (Follow-Up Review) In our prior audit report 96-S-61, we examined controls over public safety staffing levels and overtime expenditures at five selected SUNY campuses: Buffalo College, Buffalo University, Purchase College, Stony Brook University, and the Health Science Center at Brooklyn. We found the campuses could not document that their public safety staffing levels were appropriate, overtime expenditures for public safety staff at the Health Science Center at Brooklyn may have been excessive, and some professional public safety staff were assigned to duties that could have been performed by lower-paid nonprofessional staff. In our follow-up review, we found that SUNY officials have made progress in implementing the recommendations contained in our prior report.
