Controls Over Telephone Systems at Selected Campuses (Follow-Up Review)

Many SUNY campuses own and operate their own telephone systems. In our prior audit report 95-S-59, we examined the controls over the telephone systems at eight campuses and identified a number of weaknesses. As a result of these weaknesses, campus telephone systems were more likely to be used for unreimbursed personal purposes. In our follow-up review, we found that controls have been improved at some of the campuses. However, additional improvements are needed if campus telephone systems are to be adequately controlled.
