Actions To Address the Year 2000 Challenge

Computers may have difficulty making accurate calculations involving dates beginning in the year 2000. We examined the actions taken by CUNY officials to ensure that important computer processing operations are not materially disrupted as a result of this computer problem. We conclude that the actions taken to date have not been adequate, and note that CUNY was late in beginning its efforts to address the problem. However, if the weaknesses identified by our audit are addressed in a timely manner, and if appropriate contingency plans are developed, CUNY can avoid material disruption in its computing operations.
