Roswell Park Cancer Institute: Management of Patient Revenue (Follow-Up Review) Roswell Park Cancer Institute, which is overseen by the Department of Health, treats cancer patients and conducts cancer research. In our prior audit report 94-S-18, we found that patient revenue could be increased and annual State subsidies decreased if certain changes were made in the Institute's billing and collection practices, especially in relation to treatment provided to patients from outside New York State. We also found that some patients were never billed because of data entry errors. In our follow-up review, we found that actions have been taken by Institute officials to implement most of the recommendations contained in our prior report. However, additional actions were needed if the recommendations were to be fully implemented.
