Higher Education Services Corporation - Tuition Assistance Program
Katharine Gibbs School
During the 1993-94 through 1995-96 academic years, Katharine Gibbs School certified $2.5 million in Tuition Assistance Program awards. We disallowed $69,617 of these awards as well as $6,724 in awards that related to other academic years. The total $76,341 was disallowed because students were incorrectly certified as eligible for the awards. For example, some students received awards even though they did not maintain good academic standing, did not meet the School's admission requirements, or were not in full-time attendance. We also found that some students graduated from the School even though they did not meet the School's graduation requirements.
