Roswell Park Cancer Institute: Clinical Income Practice Plan

Roswell Park Cancer Institute, which is overseen by the Department of Health, treats cancer patients and conducts cancer research. The physicians and other licensed medical professionals at the Institute may supplement their State salaries with income generated from the treatment of patients at the Institute. This clinical practice income, which totals about $15 million a year, is regulated by the Institute's clinical income practice plan. We examined the amount of clinical income earned by selected Institute staff as well as expenditures made with these funds for certain other purposes and found that the amounts of income and the expenditures complied with all relevant regulations.
