Billing and Collecting Selected Revenues (Follow-Up Review)

In the course of administering housing programs, the Division of Housing and Community Renewal collects about $20 million a year in fees, fines and penalties. In our prior audit report 95-S-35, we examined the revenue collection activities relating to five housing programs. We found that improvements were needed if the revenue was to be collected in a timely manner and adequately controlled once it was collected. In our follow-up review, we found that good progress has been made in implementing our prior audit recommendations.
