During the 1990-91 through 1992-93 academic years, the Global Business Institute certified $3.4 million in Tuition Assistance Program awards. We disallowed $340,224 of these awards as well as $5,131 in awards that related to other academic years. The total $345,355 was disallowed because students were incorrectly certified as eligible for the awards. For example, some of the students who received awards were not in full-time attendance, did not meet the Institute's admission requirements, or were enrolled in programs taught in a manner that was not educationally sound. We originally disallowed $437,716 in awards, but on the basis of additional documentation provided by Institute officials, we reduced our original disallowance. 95-T-1
