During the 1990-91 through 1992-93 academic years, the School certified $3.6 million in TAP and STAP awards. We disallowed $803,562 of these awards as well as $9,581 in awards that related to other academic years. The total $813,143 was disallowed because students were incorrectly certified as eligible for the awards. For example, several students received awards even though they were not in full-time attendance, did not maintain good academic standing, or were enrolled in a program that was not approved by the State Education Department. 94-T-9
