Department of Civil Service

Health Insurance Premiums

The Department of Civil Service (Department) provides health insurance and other benefit programs for State agencies and participating employers (local government agencies and public authorities). We found that the Department inappropriately used State funds to pay health insurance premiums for 13 of 227 individuals we examined. As of March 16, 2011, these inappropriate payments totaled $409,799. The Department has since corrected their records and recovered these funds.
