Kingsboro Psychiatric Center Controls Over Late Separations (Follow-Up Report)

When employees resign, retire or are terminated, controls must be in place to ensure that their separation is processed in a timely manner. In audit report 2007-S-109, we identified weaknesses in these controls at Kingsboro Psychiatric Center. As a result, a number of employees were paid for time they did not actually work in their final paychecks. We recommended that certain actions be taken to strengthen the controls over employee separations at Kingsboro Psychiatric Center. When we followed up with Office of Mental Health officials, we found that they have implemented all of our recommendations.
