Accuracy of Employee Retirement Reporting (Follow-Up Report)

The New York State Thruway Authority (along with its subsidiary, the New York State Canal Corporation) enrolls many of its employees in the New York State Employees’ Retirement System and is required to report certain information to the Retirement System about the enrolled employees’ earnings and number of days worked. In audit 2008-S-57, we examined the Authority’s enrollment and reporting practices and identified a reporting error, which we recommended be corrected. When we followed up on this matter with Authority officials, we found that our recommendation had been implemented.
