Workers' Compensation Board

Network Security Controls

The Workers' Compensation Board ensures that workers who are off the job because of injury or illness are compensated under programs covering both occupational and nonoccupational disability and sickness. The Board relies on a computer network, and we examined selected aspects of the security controls in place over this network. We identified numerous critical weaknesses in these controls. So as not to compromise the security of the network, our detailed findings and recommendations were not included in our report, but were presented to Board officials during our audit.
