Compliance with Executive Order 111 Requirements to Purchase Power from Renewable Energy Sources

Executive Order 111, which was issued in June 2001, requires all State agencies and certain public authorities to purchase a certain portion of their electricity from renewable sources (at least 10 percent by 2005 and 20 percent by 2010). The Department of Environmental Conservation operates a central office and various regional offices. We found that the Department was in compliance with the Executive Order, as it had already substantially exceeded the 20 percent target.
