Erie County Medical Center Corporation
Accuracy of Employee Retirement Reporting Erie County Medical Center Corporation is a public benefit corporation that operates a municipal hospital and related health care facilities. The Corporation enrolls many of its employees in the New York State Employees’ Retirement System. We examined the Corporation’s enrollment practices and found that they did not always comply with State requirements. For example, we identified three full-time employees who had not been enrolled in the Retirement System. We recommended that the Corporation make certain improvements in its enrollment practices.
The Corporation is also required to report certain information to the Retirement System about its enrolled employees’ earnings and number of days worked. We examined these reporting practices and found that, with the exception of the enrollment errors, the information reported by the Corporation was accurate.
