New York Convention Center Operating Corporation

Compliance with Executive Order 134 - Environmental Impact of Cleaning of Facilities

The New York Convention Center Operating Corporation operates and maintains the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Executive Order 134 required State agencies and certain public authorities such as the Corporation to procure and use cleaning products that minimize the potential impacts to human health and the environment. It also required the agencies to conduct an assessment of their programs to promote environmentally safe cleaning and transition to certain conforming products within specified time periods. We found that the Corporation was not aware of, and was not in compliance with, the Executive Order. However, Corporation officials took steps to comply with the Order after our audit commenced.
