Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance

Contract with the New York Association for New Americans (Follow-Up Report)

The contractor provided training and job placement services to eligible immigrant refugees. In audit report 2004-R-6, we determined that a refund of $62,561 was due the State from the $6.7 million paid to the contractor, mainly because some of the costs claimed by the contractor were not documented. We also identified a need for improvement in the contractor’s documentation practices and the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance’s monitoring of the contractor. When we followed up on these matters, we found that our audit recommendations had been implemented.
