Capital District Developmental Disabilities Services Office: Selected Financial Management Practices

State-funded services to individuals with developmental disabilities (consumers) in a nine-county area around Albany are delivered or overseen by OMRDD’s Capital District Developmental Disabilities Services Office (DDSO). We examined the DDSO’s internal controls over selected financial management practices and found that controls over consumers’ personal funds, selected payroll practices and selected purchasing practices were generally adequate. However, we noted that savings could be realized if greater use were made of the State’s Purchasing Card.
