Department of Labor
Workforce Investment Act Performance Data Accuracy The Department of Labor administers the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), a federally funded job training program. As part of the program, the Department must report certain performance data to the U.S. Department of Labor. This data indicates the extent to which program participants are successful in achieving employment goals. If the data does not meet certain standards of accuracy, New York State could lose some of its federal funding. We examined the adequacy of the controls that had been established to ensure that the data was accurate. We found these controls were adequate, but noted that certain additional actions needed to be taken by the Department to further ensure the accuracy of the data.
