Division of Veterans' Affairs

Certification of Compliance with Internal Control Provisions

The Division of Veterans' Affairs was created to coordinate programs and activities that aid members of the armed forces, veterans, and their families. State agencies and public authorities must annually certify their compliance with important provisions of internal control. We examined the Division's certification of compliance for the year ended March 31, 2004 to determine whether it was fairly stated in all material respects. We found that the certification of compliance was fairly stated, but noted that certain improvements were needed in the Division’s controls over payroll transactions and time and attendance records.
