Contract with the Federation of Organizations for the New York State Mentally Disabled, Inc.

The contractor provided various mental health-related services in Nassau, Suffolk and Queens Counties. We audited the costs and Medicaid revenues reported by the contractor for the 2002 calendar year. We determined that a refund of $13,465 was due the State from the $2.6 million paid to the contractor, because certain reported expenses were not documented or were not eligible for reimbursement under the contract. We also determined that $266,993 in excess Medicaid reimbursements should be transmitted to the State.
