Office of Advocate for Persons with Disabilities

Certification of Compliance with Internal Control Provisions

The Office of Advocate for Persons with Disabilities promotes the inclusion of persons with disabilities in all aspects of community life. State agencies and public authorities must annually certify their compliance with important provisions of internal control. We examined the Office’s certification of compliance for the year ended March 31, 2004 to determine whether it was fairly stated in all material respects. We found that a number of the Office’s certifications were not documented. We also noted that written policies and procedures needed to be developed by the Office, and improvements were needed in the Office’s controls over cash receipts and equipment.
