Office of General Services

Contract with Sysco Food Services, Inc. (Follow-Up Review)

The contractor provided food and related commodities to State agencies and institutions throughout New York State. The prices charged to the State by the contractor for these items were required to meet certain conditions that were defined in the contract. In our initial audit report 2001-R-1, we examined the contractor’s compliance with these conditions and found that certain discounts and allowances were not being passed along to the State. We recommended that our findings be taken into account by the Office of General Services when future contracts of this kind were negotiated, and certain aspects of the contractor’s performance on this contract be monitored more closely. In our follow-up review, we found that progress had been made in implementing the recomendations contained in our initial report.
