Instructional Technology Plans To Be Developed by School Districts (Follow-Up Review)

Beginning in the 1999 school year, each school district was required by law to develop and maintain a plan for providing its students with adequate learning experiences with computers. In our initial audit report 2002-S-7, we examined the development of these plans outside New York City and found indications that many districts may not have complied fully with the requirement. We recommended that the development and maintenance of the plans be more closely overseen by the State Education Department, and in our follow-up review, we found that our audit recommendations had been implemented by the Department.
