Higher Education Services Corporation - Tuition Assistance Program

Long Island University

During the 1999-2000 through 2001-2002 academic years, Long Island University certified $16.5 million in Tuition Assistance Program awards at its three Long Island campuses. We disallowed $7,367 of these awards, because students were incorrectly certified as eligible for the awards. For example, some students received awards even though they did not maintain good academic standing, or were not in full-time attendance.
