Textbook Inventory Practices

We examined the inventory controls over textbooks at selected New York City high schools. We found that the inventory records at the high schools were not always accurate. We also found that some high schools appeared to have excess textbooks on hand, but did not make an adequate effort to alert other schools so that the schools could avoid unnecessary purchases.
